CONtRAPtORS

"Founded in 2014 as a musical side project, 'Contraptors' is the duo of Benjamin Jowett and Joe Wright. Their music is a blend of soulful melodic tunes and rhythmically strummed riffs that make for a low-key yet stirring listening experience, with a few popular cover songs thrown in which the duo make their own."

"Armed primarily with two bass guitars (a six-string electric and four-string electro-acoustic), listeners might not expect the diverse character and thoughtful lyricism that has become typical of Contraptors songs, but are sure to feel the warmth and intimacy of their performances."
tURN tHe PAGe

" playing a range of well known rock and pop songs and some not so well known.
Performed by 4 established local musicians."

Line Up - Saturday 13th July

As British as fish and chips, its mischievous piano-bashing boogie, with songs about drunken arguments, crafty cats, anti-social night buses, dirty older women and messy divorces. Uncut magazine gave debut album, ‘Our Night Out’, four out of five stars, citing Buster Shuffle as ‘one to watch’, and the band have won a number of high-profile fans including BBC radio giant, Steve Lamacq and Pixies legend, Frank Black.
Buster Shuffle’s line-up comprises the virtuoso, creative behemoth that is Jet Baker on piano and lead vocals, the best rhythm section you could hope to find in the shape of Terry Mascall and Tim Connell on drums and double bass, James Stickley, giving heart and soul, on guitar along with, more recent addition, singer Carrie Griffiths on vocals.

‘Take my word for it, they’re rocking’ – THE SUN

‘Inspired arrangements and effective songs One to watch (four stars)’ – UNCUT

‘You’ll enjoy this knees-up bar-room stomp’ –
THE GUARDIAN

Edi Johnston - from The Austin Francis Connection - now making more silly songs, but this time on his own, with a couple of beats & some Ukulele to boot...

Formed in 2009 this rock foursome consists of Scott Bugg - vocals & guitar Adi Young – lead guitar Rory Black – bass Daniel Taylor – drums
Their sound is more fully charged than the typical indie band – expect a real rock & roll experience with lyrically-charged Brit-rock melodies and explosive choruses.
Influences new and old could include The Beatles, to The Stone Roses, Kasabian to Oasis and the Arctic Monkeys.
However their sound is very much their own and they captivate their audience at every live gig from the very start of the opening song, such is their presence.

When a new band suddenly pops out of seemingly nowhere and has already supported full UK tours with the likes of The Rifles and have played shows with Reverend and the Makers, the subways, Dexters , blossoms, Gaz Coombes and Circa Waves, you could be forgiven for assuming they were being forced on an unsuspecting public.
Not so for The Swiines for in each case, just like their last tour dates as support to Jake Bugg, they have played at the direct request of the bands they supported.

Musical Ruth and The Amazing Magical Mobile Piano has performed at countless venues and events throughout the U.K and Europe. It's fun, daft, and side splittingly funny. Musical Ruth uses comedy dance moves, facial contortions, crazy sound effects, many styles of music and hilarious banter, making sure that nobody will forget meeting the singing nun. The piano is built onto an electric vehicle and is beautifully decorated. Its appearance will raise a titter even before Sister Ruth says a word. It's a hilarious act, visually stunning and once witnessed......never forgotten.

Dalton are an acoustic pop trio consisting of Joe Newson, Dan Hoffmeister and Ryan Pinder. Their music is inspired by a multitude of artists from many different eras. They have played many venues and festivals in and around the midlands and have featured on Spire radio.
